Rebecca completed her Masters degree at the National Oceanography Centre, University of Southampton, U.K.  For her research she participated on a six week research cruise to the subtropical Atlantic, collecting data to investigate the complex links between biological productivity and mesoscale processes.   Since then she has worked at the Central Caribbean Marine Institute in the Cayman Islands as a coral reef researcher, and more recently for Mekong Modelling Associates in Cambodia, involved with flood management and mitigation.

Rebecca is currently a postgraduate student at the University of Western Australia, and will be collecting data for her PhD on this expedition.  Specifically, she is looking at how hydrodynamic forces alter the biogeochemical processes of Scott Reef.
