Tamara is a marine geochemist working with hydrothermal fluids and gases. She has a PhD from ETH Zurich in Switzerland and is currently a postdoc at the University of Bergen in Norway. She specialises in characterising fluids and gases released during hydrothermal venting/submarine volcanic eruptions to provide insights into their origin and interactions with rock and sediment. On this cruise, Tamara will sample and analyse dissolved gases in the water column to hunt hydrothermal plumes and track them back to the seafloor to identity new vent sites.
