Chantel is a graduate research assistant within the Biological Oceanography division at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her research in the Neuheimer lab focuses on biophysical modeling of copepods and global genetic connectivity. Chantel has been involved in research projects on sea level rise in the NE Pacific and mesophotic coral reef ecosystems in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. She received a B.S. in Mathematics and a certificate from the Marine Option Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, as well as a B.S. and M.A. in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California. Chantel is passionate about exploring the relationship between mathematics and oceanography, ocean conservation, sustainability and community outreach.
