Andreas received a Master degree in Biology from Stockholm University 2015. As a PhD student, in the lab of Dr. Rachel Foster at Stockholm University, his research is focused on microbial symbiotic relationships between Diatoms and nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria. He is specially interested in how the coordination and communication within these associations depend on external environmental factors. Throughout the cruise, Andreas will sample the microbial planktonic community for DNA and RNA analysis.
